The "IJzeren Bos" ("Iron Forest") is the nearest area of scenic beauty. If you walk down the park on the right side and you turn to the right again, you're already in the forest. Hiking routes are available at the reception of our park.

You can also go biking in abundance in the envoronment of the park. Not only through the Iron Forest, but also in Belgium and Germany. The nodal points route, which is going through three different countries, is leading along the entry of the park. To get biking routes and a nodal points chart you can go to the reception in the park.

To make a delightful boat trip you can go to De Paep at Meinecom 11 in Maaseik (Belgium). This boat trip is a unique experience. You're sailing on the Meuse and on a couple of adjacent lakes in the surroundings of Maaseik-Kinrooi-Thorn.

In the near environment a number of tiny (bikers) ferry boats are situated and are regularly sailing up and down the river Meuse. In the nearby town of Berg aan de Maas you can sail across the river Meuse (and the border) by ferry boat to Belgium. You can do the same between Ohé en Laak and Ophoven.  At Grevenbicht you can take the ferry boat to Rotem (Dilsen-Stokkem).
